Samuel & Jesus Compared

Even though Samuel and Jesus never met, they very much resembled each other.  Samuel had a miraculous birth, but Jesus had an even more extraordinary birth because his mother was a virgin.  Samuel was a priest in Shiloh.  While Samuel was a priest, he offered many sacrifices for sin; Jesus was our ultimate sacrifice for sin.  Samuel also came to be a prophet and spoke the word of the Lord, while Jesus was the Word of God.  When Samuel was a judge, he subdued the Philistines, yet Jesus subdued all evil by dying on the cross.  Thus, Jesus and Samuel are very similar.
