Samuel, A Type of Christ

Although Samuel and Jesus never met, they very much resembled each other.  Both Samuel and Jesus had very unique births.  Jesus was born by a virgin, and Samuel was born by someone whose womb was closed.  Samuel was first a priest and he made sacrifices for sins, but Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for all sins.  Samuel heard God’s voice and then became a prophet, so he could tell the Israelites God’s word.  Jesus was better and was the Word made flesh.  When Samuel became a judge, he subdued the Philistines in battle.  When Jesus died, he subdued ALL evil.  Thus, Jesus and Samuel are very similar.
