Crossing Bok Chitto

There was a river called Bok Chitto and a girl named Martha Tom. Her mom asked her to go to pick blackberries. But she did something she was never supposed to do – she crossed Bok Chitto. When she got over, she found a bush of blackberries. She picked a bunch but after she looked up to find the sun to get back home, it was cloudy and she was lost. Then she met a boy named little Mo, and he helped her get back home. She showed him a stone path. Years passed and little Mo and his family found out that little Mo’s mother and little Mo were going to be sold. But then little Mo remembered the rock path and told his Dad. Then they tried it and got across. When you get across you’re safe.
